New shows 'Joey' and 'Desperate Housewives' were among the winners at the 31st People's Choice Awards in California on Sunday night.
'Joey' won the award for New Television Comedy Series, with its star, Matt LeBlanc, the winner of the Male Television Star award.
'Desperate Housewives' won the award for New Television Drama Series, with 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and 'Will & Grace' winning in the Television Drama and Comedy Series categories.
'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' star Marg Helgenberger won the award for Female Television Star.
'Joey' and 'Desperate Housewives' began on RTÉ Two last week.
