Michael Moore was among the winners at the People's Choice Awards in California on Sunday.

Moore's documentary 'Fahrenheit 9/11' was named Best Film; the director dedicated the award to US troops serving in Iraq.

Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ' won the award for Best Film Drama, with the director telling reporters: "To me, really, this is the ultimate goal because one doesn't make work for the elite. To me, the people have spoken."

The Male Movie Star award went to Johnny Depp, with Julia Roberts winning the Female Movie Star award.

Brad Pitt and Renée Zellweger were named the winners of the Leading Man and Lady awards.

'Shrek 2' took the awards for Comedy Motion Picture, Animated Motion Picture and Favourite Sequel.

The winners of the People's Choice Awards were decided by the 21m votes cast by the public online.
