A coroner's report has revealed that funk legend Rick James had nine drugs in his system at the time of his death.
James, 56, died in his sleep at his Los Angeles home on 6 August of a heart attack, but drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, valium and vicodin in his system likely contributed to heart failure, the report said.
"None of the drugs or drug combinations were found to be at levels that were life-threatening in and of themselves," the report said.
The report ruled that the singer's death was accidental.
James, a former crack cocaine addict, suffered from diabetes and had suffered a stroke in 1998.
