Johnny Ramone, lead guitarist with punk trailblazers the Ramones, has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 55.
Ramone, real name John Cummings, died in his sleep at his Los Angeles home yesterday afternoon.
He is the third member of the band to die in recent years.
Singer Joey Ramone died of cancer in 2001 and bassist Dee Dee Ramone died from a drug overdose in 2002.
