Lenny Kravitz is to make his movie debut in a semi-autobiographical film called 'Barbecues and Bar Mitzvahs'.
MTV.com reports that Kravitz, the son of a Jewish TV producer and African American actress Roxie Roker, has compared the dramatic cross-cultural comedy to the films of Woody Allen and that shooting is due to begin next spring.
Kravitz told MTV that while he would play the lead character, a musician searching for love and happiness, other roles in the film have yet to be cast.
Next month sees the release of Kravitz's new album, 'Baptism'.
