'In America', the new film from Irish director Jim Sheridan, has won the Grand Jury Prize at the Flanders International Film Festival.
Producer Arthur Lappin accepted the €25,000 prize on behalf of Sheridan from actress Vanessa Redgrave.
He said that it was the first prize the film had won and that they were truly honoured.
Sheridan had attended the film's Flanders screening last week, but has now travelled to the US ahead of 'In America's 26 November release.
The film opens in Irish cinemas on 31 October.
