Javine Hylton, who narrowly lost out on a place in the girlband formed on the 'Popstars: The Rivals' TV show, has landed a £1m record deal.
Hylton is believed to have signed a three album contract with Innocent Records to launch her solo pop career.
There was controversy after she was voted off the final of 'Popstars: The Rivals' last month, missing her chance of joining Girls Aloud.
At the time the 20-year-old vowed, "I'll rise above it all to have a great solo career.
The Sun reports that Polydor, who signed Girls Aloud, Sony and Virgin also bid for the singer.
