U2 frontman Bono has said he is not planning to trade his rock 'n' role lifestyle for that of a politician.
Despite his worldwide work as a rights campaigner, Bono says music is his first love.
He told Hot Press magazine, "Politicians don't turn me on, politics doesn't turn me on, the way music does. I have a lot more respect for them than I used to. They work a lot harder than I thought...but I don't want to be one."
He also ruled out the possibility of running for President of Ireland, joking "I don't think I could live with the pay cut or moving to a smaller house."
U2 are set to release a greatest hits compilation later this year.
