The Cúirt International Festival of Literature has announced a diverse and eclectic programme for 2023, featuring featuring an array of some of the most exciting Irish and international writers at work today.
Highlights include two former Laureates for Irish Fiction, Booker Prize-winner Anne Enright, and twice Costa Prize-winner, Sebastian Barry, as well as US author Carmen Maria Machado, author of the Folio Prize-winning memoir In the Dream House, Grief Is The Thing With Feathers author Max Porter, Tara Bergin, Donal Ryan, Vona Groarke, Manchán Magan and Colette Bryce.
Curated by its new Director, Manuela Moser, the 38th Cúirt International Festival of Literature will take place in Galway from Tuesday 18th - Sunday 23th April. Spanning over 50 events, the programme includes poetry, fiction, theatre, memoir, masterclasses, exhibitions, and family events.

Established and emerging Irish voices feature prominently, among them Emer McLysaght, co-author of the Aisling series (featuring in a live episode of hit podcast Sentimental Garbage), Wendy Erskine, An Post Irish Book Awards Novel of the Year winner 2022 Louise Kennedy (Novel of the Year 2022, Nicole Flattery, Rooney Prize for Irish Literature winner Seán Hewitt, Alice Kinsella, Sophie White, Elaine Feeney and more. From further afield come the 2020 and 2022 winners of the Desmond Elliott Prize, Derek Owusu and Maddie Mortimer, as well as Tice Cin, Ione Gamble, Camilla Grudova; and Waterstones Best Book of the Year 2022 winner Travis Alabanza, author of None of the Above.

Elsewhere, the poetry line-up includes Pigott Prize-winner Colette Bryce, reading alongside Sarah Clancy and Toby Buckley, in celebration of the landmark anthology Queering the Green: Post-2000 Queer Irish Poetry, as well as a memorial event in honour of local poet, Kevin Higgins, who died last January. YA readers can enjoy a session with novelists Caroline O'Donoghue, Clara Kiyoko Kumagai and Adiba Jaigirdar, while the popular New Writing Showcase, highlights the best in new poetry and fiction.
