Artist-led tours, workshops for family and community events form part of artist Niamh O'Malley’s multi-venue national tour which takes place in Dublin, Sligo and Mayo over the coming weeks.

O’Malley represented Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 2022.

Her work is being shown over five rooms at The Model in Sligo from February 3rd – April 9th, an exhibition which also reveals and considers the influence of the West of Ireland on her work.

Among the events at Sligo will be a comic making workshop for families, a sculptural workshop for families and a global kitchen event for local communities.

From March 2 at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios in Dublin, an exhibition entitled Gather, Dublin focuses on O’Malley’s practice, looking at both the conception and the making of the work at her studio in Temple Bar and its ultimate realisation at the Irish Pavillion in Venice.

This exhibition includes several new works and looks at the material practice of making art. Events include a tour of the exhibition with the Ireland at Venice curatorial team, a Seen Unseen tour for blind and partially sighted people and an ‘ArtWalk’ which visits other galleries in the Temple Bar area.

And from March 11 at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Mayo, ‘Gather, Mayo’ features readings by Eimear McBride and Brian Dillon who contributed texts to the exhibition book. There will also be accompanying film screenings by artists Jenny Brady, whose work looks at the making of the Venice exhibition and Ross Kavanagh whose film documents the show in Venice.
