A new play by Edna O'Brien is among the productions to be staged at the Abbey Theatre this autumn.
Joyce's Women was written to mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses, and will be directed by Conall Morrison.
Edna O'Brien said Joyce had been her ultimate hero for sixty years, but that to paint the canvas of his life was daunting. Therefore she said she decided to depict him as seen by the key figures in his life including his mother, wife and daughter.
The world premiere of Joyce's Women will be staged at the Abbey as part of this year's Dublin Theatre Festival.
