Dublin based charity Scoop Foundation have announced a massive charity art auction this April to help run its educational programmes for young displaced people living in Direct Provision Centres in Ireland and a displacement camp in Iraqi Kurdistan, plus projects in Ukraine helping safely evacuate people away from traffickers working in the region.

Featuring over 350 artworks, participating artists in the auction include Kevin Sharkey, Maser, Kate Beagan, Leah Hewson, Emmalene Blake, Duda, Gerard Byrne, Ciana Fitzgerald, Peter Monaghan, Nick Munier, Leonard Sexton, Jim Fitzpatrick, Lola Donoghue, Brian Teeling, Claire Prouvost, Linda Brownlee, Jonathan Knuttel, Adrienne M. Finnerty, Richard Hearns, Vanessa Power, Eoin McCormack, Jeremiah O'Dea, Kathrina Rupit, Joby Hickey, Conor Bereen, Ann Marie Webb - and many more.

This is Scoop’s 12th annual art auction, and has grown into the charity’s largest annual fundraiser - a percentage of the funds raised will be allocated to their Artist’s Fund, which aims to support artists living in Direct Provision, via an Artist Residency Programme that offers an artist a 3 month residence including studio space, mentorship, materials, and transport to an emerging talent.
The auction features a pair original artworks from the current resident, Syrian artist Manar Al Shouha, who is exhibiting and selling work for the first time in Ireland.

There will be two separate art auctions taking place:
The first will be on Sunday 24th April 2022 at the Iveagh Garden Hotel, Harcourt Street, Dublin at 2 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to attend live and bid on over 200 artworks. Online bidding is also available here.
The second auction will take place on Thursday 28th April at 7 pm - this is a completely virtual auction, streaming live here. All online bidders must register in advance to be able to bid on artworks.

Founded in 2009 by brothers Calvin and Andy Sweeney, Scoop (Support Children Out of Poverty) places an emphasis on the education and support of children trapped in the direct provision system in Ireland and those that have been displaced by conflicts in a number of countries worldwide.

They have responded to the emergency in Ukraine by supporting medical teams on the ground in Poland and Ukraine, assisting families who are fleeing by arranging transport and accommodation in Ireland, and and have partnered with a Polish anti-trafficking NGO and purchased a bus to help safely evacuate thousands of women and children, including those with special needs.
