Chapters bookstore in Dublin city centre has announced it will reopen this Friday March 11.
The store announced its closure last year after four decades in business, leading to large queues outside as regular customers arrived to buy its new and second hand stock.
It finally shut its doors at the end of January
However it announced today that it has been bought by Kevin Neary and Michael Finucane of Gamestop and will reopen with the same staff and manager.
The new owners opened their first Gameworld shop in a 50 square metre space at the back of the old Chapters store on Middle Abbey Street, meaning, they said, that 25 years of friendship, admiration and shared understanding of retail and championing customer choice had come home again.

The new owners said they had been shocked and amazed at the outpouring of emotion and affection that was directed towards the shop when the closure was announced, and this made everyone connected to Chapters conscious of what a unique space the store was.
They said Chapters will continue to stock, sell and trade new and second hand books, while investment will be made to stock visibility and the store's online presence.
