We were somewhere between Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary.

We were sweaty and underwashed, tired, muggy, luxuriating in our own filth. Our clothes were damp or rotting with sweat and bundled up in our rucksacks on the racks over our heads. There was too little water between the six of us. Someone was wearing the same t-shirt for the third day in a row. There'd been an argument about where to go next, about what city was the right one to go to. The train shook and shook as I thought, I hate every person in this booth...
