Via Sunday Miscellany, on RTÉ Radio 1 - at an anniversary Mass for a friend in her local church, Barbara Scully, no longer a Catholic, finds a meditative peace.

'The real world worships at the altar of doing, constantly doing. Our weekends are usually a list of domestic chores to be ticked off, followed perhaps by a lively family lunch out, if we get the jobs done...

"That was surprisingly enjoyable.  And relaxing," I said to himself.

"Yeah, I thought so too.  Maybe we should go more often."
