The Laureate for Irish Fiction, Sebastian Barry, hosts a series of brief conversations with fellow writers asking what is writing? What is its purpose and mystery beyond the pragmatic notions of academia and journalism? In the latest conversation, he speaks with Paul Lynch.
Paul Lynch was born in Limerick and grew up in Co Donegal. His debut novel Red Sky in Morning was published to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic in 2013. He has since published two novels: The Black Snow in 2014, and Grace in 2017. He has won the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the French booksellers' prize Prix Libr'à Nous for Best Foreign Novel. Paul lives and works in Dublin.
The Laureate for Irish Fiction is an initiative of the Arts Council in partnership with University College Dublin and New York University.
