A renowned raconteur and storyteller, Donleavy made many memorable appearances on RTÉ over the years - in 2014, the RTÉ Book Show went to visit him at Levington - his house just outside Mullingar - where he discussed his love of boxing, friendship with Brendan Behan and his long career as a writer with Sinead Gleeson. So sorry to hear JP "Mike" Donleavy has died. The Ginger Man is one of the best, funniest novels about Dublin. https://t.co/dMaj4yhtZx pic.twitter.com/MVKHip7Ley
