A unique collaboration between the National Gallery, London, the National Gallery of Ireland and the National Galleries of Scotland, this exhibition pays tribute to the famous Italian baroque painter - his work The Taking of Christ is a centrepiece of the NGI's collection - by bringing together over 40 major works which show the ways in which a large number of artists (the Caravaggisti) adopted Caravaggio’s ideas and developed them to become masters in their own right. The centrepiece is a quartet of works by the man himself: The Supper at Emmaus, 1601 (National Gallery, London); The Taking of Christ, 1602 (National Gallery of Ireland), as well as two works never exhibited before in Ireland: Boy Bitten by a Lizard, 1594-95 (National Gallery, London) and Boy Peeling Fruit, c.1592 (The Royal Collection). We're talking one of the Irish art events of the year - it runs until May 14th.

GALWAY: All Tvvins, Roisin Dubh

The indie-pop sensation hit Galway this week-end for two dates on Saturday and Sunday, at the best music room in the city - the Darkest Ocean duo (it's on the soundtrack of smash hit videogame FIFA 16) have just been announced for a big hometown show supporting James Vincent McMorrow in Trinity College in July, to boot. Also: they absolutely rock live - watch a sample of their amazing Other Voices set above.

BELFAST: Educating Rita, Lyric Theatre

“Sometimes students end up being the best teachers.” Michael James Ford and Kerri Quinn return by popular demand with their massively popular Belfast 'makeover' of Willy Russell's classic comedy of opposites, immortalized onscreen in Lewis Gilbert’s Oscar nominated movie starring Julie Walters and Michael Caine. For the uninitiated, hairdresser Rita is bored by her ‘common’ life and decides to go back to school - there, she meets perpetually sozzled tutor Frank, a man with a fair share of his own problems. It's a well-built (and properly hilarious) '80s classic given new life by a splendid cast, with a star-making turn from Quinn - it's headed on a national tour, but you can catch it at The Lyric until February 25th.
