There have been huge developments in drone technology in the last decade, but we can expect much more in the years to come

Look up and chances are a drone will be along in a few minutes. The development of remotely piloted devices and flying camera platforms has grown massively in the last few years. What was once something for hobbyists and wedding photographers has become a vital must-have tool for sectors from emergency services and agriculture to weather and military.

Presenter Áine Kerr hears from Prof Tim McCarthy (Maynooth University), Dr Stephanie Keogh (Maynooth University), Enda Walsh (Irish Aviation Authority) and Alan O'Reilly (Carlow Weather) about where drones have come from - and where we can expect them to go next.
