    A man has appeared at Gorey District Court in Wexford charged with murder, assaulting and obstructing gardaí, attempting to escape custody and production of a weapon.

    Harmful levels of antibiotics found in Irish rivers

    Scientists from Dublin City University have found antibiotics and antidepressants in four Irish rivers at levels that are harmful to aquatic life. They say current waste water treatment in Ireland is not sufficient to deal with the problem.
