    Ex-rugby international Mullin jailed for three years

    Former rugby international Brendan Mullin has been jailed for three years for stealing over €500,000 from Bank of Ireland when he was the chief executive officer of its private bank a decade ago.

    A 28-year-old man who set a garda car on fire, jumped on the bonnet of another and attacked an accommodation centre for International Protection applicants on the night of the Dublin riots last year has been jailed for six and a half years.

    Man who set garda car on fire 'did it without thinking'

    A 28-year-old man who set a garda car on fire, jumped on the bonnet of another garda car and attacked an accommodation centre for international protection applicants on the night of the Dublin riots last year said he was not racist but got "caught up in the thing" and "did it without thinking".
