RTÉ 2fm presenter Colm Hayes has written a Euro 2012 anthem for Jedward.
The Colm Hayes Show is teaming up with Universal for the charity single, which will be released in May with all the proceeds going to the ISPCC.
Hayes said of the news: “Well the news is out and there's no stopping us now. Jedward have recorded The Colm Hayes Show song for Euro 2012. It's an idea we hatched about two months ago and I re-wrote the lyrics of Lipstick with the songwriters’ approval and turned it into an anthem for the boys in green. It's called Put Your Green Cape On and that's all I can say so far.
"The boys agreed to record it and with a studio booked in London the plan has finally come together. We are really looking forward to shooting the video with a whole host of celebrities and with the release date for May, we hope the whole country will 'Put their Green Cape On' with The Colm Hayes Show, RTÉ 2fm and Jedward. Next up: the video and then onwards and upwards to number 1. Come on Ireland!”
Jeward spoke to The Colm Hayes Show this morning from a studio in London where they were about to start recording the new song.
