Armagh star Aimee Mackin's season is over after it was confirmed that she suffered a cruciate injury in the Orchard County’s Ulster final win over Donegal on Sunday.
The three-time All-Star and 2020 Ladies Player of the Year picked up the injury midway through the second half in a game Armagh won by a point after extra-time.
Mackin suffered a similar injury back in July 2019 during an Armagh game with Cork.
It’s the second time the injury has hit the Mackin household this season, with younger sister Blaithin also suffering a cruciate injury against Donegal in a pre-season challenge match.
The pair are also spent last season with the Melbourne Demons in the AFLW in Australia.
