The Seattle Seahawks ran rampant over a lacklustre San Francisco to clinch the top seed in the NFC with a 13-3 win over the 49ers.

A rushing touchdown from running back Zach Charbonnet gave the Seahawks an early 7-0 lead, which they never looked like relinquishing.

The visitors added two field goals to their tally while the 49ers were held to a single field goal as they looked outmatched by a dominant Seattle defence.

The result means the Seahawks clinch the NFC West division while the 49ers face a wild-card game on the road.

Saturday's other game saw the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scrape by the Carolina Panthers 16-14.

Although the Buccaneers were able to gain an early advantage, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young found Jalen Coker in the end zone with just over two minutes remaining to keep a sliver of hope alive.

But a fumble with 18 seconds left dashed their dreams of automatically qualifying for a first play-off berth since 2017.

Instead, they will need the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
