Dak Prescott threw for two touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 in a Thanksgiving clash.

Opposite number Patrick Mahomes threw for two scores in both the first and fourth quarter, but two scoreless periods in between put a dent in the reigning AFC champions' play-off hopes.

Mahomes’ two touchdown passes to Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce, either side of Prescott finding CeeDee Lamb, gave the Chiefs a 14-7 first-quarter lead.

The Cowboys moved ahead 20-14 entering the final quarter after Malik Davis ran for 42 yards to score and two field-goals from Brandon Aubrey, before Mahomes found Rice from three yards to regain the lead.

Prescott responded with a short pass to Javonte Williams, a two-point conversion and a third Aubrey field-goal, stretching the advantage to 10 points before Mahomes found Hollywood Brown to cut the gap.

But the Cowboys were able to run out the clock and moved to 6-5-1, while the Chiefs dropped to 6-6.

Jordan Love also threw for four touchdowns as he steered the Green Bay Packers to a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions in an NFC North clash.

Opposite number Jared Goff passed for two scores as the two teams traded touchdowns, Love’s one-yard pass for Dontayvion Wicks’ second score of the game opening a crucial 10-point cushion in the third quarter.

The win lifts the Packers to 8-3-1 behind divisional leaders the Chicago Bears (8-3), ahead of their clash with Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles, while a third defeat in five games dropped the Lions to 7-5.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow returned from injury to lead his side to a 32-14 victory at divisional rivals the Baltimore Ravens.

Burrow, playing for the first time since injuring a toe in the second game of the season, threw two touchdown passes while Evan McPherson kicked six field-goals.

The defeat dropped the Ravens to 6-6 as they surrendered top spot in the division – and a play-off spot- to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
