Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched the first World Series complete game since 2015 as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 to level the seven-game contest at 1-1.

The game was tied at 1-1 until Will Smith hit a seventh-inning home run off Kevin Gausman, who had retired 17 batters in a row.

Max Muncy added another solo homer later in the inning and the Dodgers extended their lead to 5-1 in the eighth.

The next three games will take place in Los Angeles on consecutive days from Tuesday before returning to Toronto if necessary.
