NFL postpones Tennessee Titans game due to Covid-19 outbreak

Pittsburgh's visit to Tennessee originally scheduled for Sunday has been postponed until Monday or Tuesday to allow the Titans more time for coronavirus testing following an outbreak of cases among players and staff.

On Tuesday, defensive lineman DaQuan Jones, long snapper Beau Brinkley and tight end Tommy Hudson were put on the reserve/Covid-19 list while five additional members of Titans personnel tested positive following last Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

No Vikings players or staff have tested positive but both teams have had their team facilities shut down and have suspended in-person activities.

It is hoped that pushing back the fixture against the Steelers - the first time an NFL match has been affected by coronavirus - might allow the Titans to find any more cases and get back into their facility before playing a game.

A NFL statement on its Twitter page said: "The Steelers-Titans game, originally scheduled for Sunday will be rescheduled to allow additional time for further daily Covid-19 testing and to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel.

"Details on the new game date and time on either Monday or Tuesday will be announced as soon as possible."
