Blair Walsh's last-minute field goal attempt came up short as the Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-31.

Walsh was attempting to split the uprights from 52 yards to extend the game into overtime, after Russell Wilson found Doug Baldwin with a 29-yard touchdown pass and a two-point conversion made it a three-point game.

But Walsh's miss handed the Falcons, who were defeated in last season's Super Bowl, the win as their record improved to 6-4.

The Falcons started strongly, rounding off their opening drive with a Coleman one-yard rush for the first score at CenturyLink Field.

A second soon followed when quarterback Matt Ryan connected with Mohamed Sanu for two yards, and when Adrian Clayborn found the end zone with a 10-yard fumble recovery early in the second quarter, the Falcons were up 21-7.

Seattle's quarterback Russell Wilson punched in two touchdowns and scored one on the ground, finishing with figures of 26 of 42 for 258 yards
