An Ireland U20 international during the cancelled 2020 Six Nations campaign, Stewart made his debut in Round 7 of the URC in the 2021/22 season, coming off the bench in the defeat away to the Ospreys.
Capped twice by Ireland ahead of the World Cup in 2023, Stewart made 46 appearances ahead of the 2024/25 season.
