Jager joined Munster in November 2023 from the Super Rugby side Crusaders, after several years being linked with a return to Ireland.
The Kildare man spent ten years working his way through the ranks at the Crusaders in New Zealand, having moved there after missing out on an academy contract in Ireland.
While it looked like Jager could have earned an All Black call-up, his move to Munster has seen him become an Ireland international, making his debut against Wales in the 2024 Six Nations.
