Scrum-half Coughlan was one of several youngsters who was thrown in at the deep end when he made his debut as a 19-year-old in the famous Covid-19 Champions Cup game against Wasps.
The Clare man came through the ranks at Ennis RFC, where he played alongside his current Munster half-back partner Tony Butler.
The former Ireland U20 Six Nations Grand Slam winner earned his first Munster start on the opening day of the 2023/24 season against the Sharks, capping off the day with his first Munster try.
