The older of Munster's Scannell brothers, Niall spent the first three months of the season sidelined with a long-term groin injury, but was ever-present in the side upon his return, playing all 14 games he was available for.
The hooker has scored 22 tries in 175 appearances for Munster, since making his debut at the age of 21.
Made his Ireland debut against Italy in the 2017 Six Nations, winning 20 caps to date, the last of which came at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
