2021/22 was a breakthrough season for the Kildare man, whose nine tries in 18 appearances saw him called into the Ireland squad for the summer tour of New Zealand.
O'Brien played twice for Ireland in non-cap games against the Maori All Blacks in 2022, while he has also represented the country at Sevens level.
He played for Ireland in the 2023 World Cup and made 82 appearances for Leinster ahead of the 2024/25 season.
