Ioane joins Connacht from the Chiefs in Super Rugby this season, after JJ Hanrahan's long-term knee injury left the province short on out-half cover.
The experienced and versatile back is a former All Black, making his sole appearance for New Zealand in 2019.
Ioane has also played against Irish sides for the New Zealand XV and the Maori All Blacks in 2022, while he made 72 appearances in Super Rugby for the Chiefs and Highlanders.
