New signing Michael Milne will make his Munster debut in Friday's crucial BKT United Rugby Championship meeting with Cardiff in Wales (7.35pm), as Ian Costello makes sweeping changes to his side following last week's defeat to the Bulls.
Milne, who recently joined from Leinster, is one of seven changes to the side that started last week's 16-13 loss at Thomond Park, replacing Josh Wycherley who picked up a knock in that game.
Peter O'Mahony continues to miss out with a hamstring issue, while Conor Murray, Tom Ahern, Stephen Archer and John Hodnett are also absent with injury, but the province have been able to welcome back Mike Haley, Calvin Nash and Gavin Coombes after they missed out last week.
With Archer and Oli Jager both out injured, John Ryan comes in at tighthead, joining Milne and Niall Scannell in the front row, while Fineen Wycherley starts alongside captain Tadhg Beirne in the second row, with Jean Kleyn held back to provide impact on the bench.
Coombes replaces the injured Ahern in the team, with Jack O'Donoghue moving to blindside flanker and Alex Kendellen at openside.
Craig Casey starts, having withdrawing before Saturday's game due to illness, and partners Jack Crowley in the half-backs. Alex Nankivell and Tom Farrell continue in the centre as usual.
There's a reshuffle in the back three, with Haley returning from injury at full-back, and that sees Thaakir Abrahams moving across to the left wing, and Andrew Smith dropping out of the squad.
Nash also returns from a minor injury, replacing Seán O'Brien on the right wing.
Munster: Mike Haley; Calvin Nash, Tom Farrell, Alex Nankivell, Thaakir Abrahams; Jack Crowley, Craig Casey; Michael Milne, Niall Scannell, John Ryan; Fineen Wycherley, Tadhg Beirne (C); Jack O'Donoghue, Alex Kendellen, Gavin Coombes.
Replacements: Diarmuid Barron, Mark Donnelly, Ronan Foxe, Jean Kleyn, Ruadhán Quinn, Paddy Patterson, Tony Butler, Seán O’Brien.
