Sam Prendergast has agreed a new contract with Leinster to remain at the province next season.
The new deal, the length of which has not been disclosed, is between the 22-year-old and Leinster Rugby, rather than a central contract with the IRFU.
Prendergast, who made his debut for Leinster in April 2022, has climbed the depth chart for province and country this season, becoming first-choice 10 for both.
The out-half has played 18 games this season, with seven for Leinster, eight for Ireland, and a three for Emerging Ireland on their tour of South Africa in the autumn.
The younger brother of Connacht captain Cian, he made his Ireland debut in the Autumn Nations Series win against Argentina in November, before starting the wins over Fiji and Australia, while he featured in every game of Ireland's Guinness Six Nations campaign, winning the BKT Rising Player Award.
In total, the former Ireland Under-20 Six Nations winner has made 25 appearances for Leinster, and won eight Irish caps, while he’s part of a wide open out-half race for this summer’s British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.
