Rabah Slimani will stay at Leinster for another season, after the province confirmed a new contract for the tighthead prop, while Jordan Larmour and Fintan Gunne have also agreed deals.
France international Slimani joined from Clermont Auvergne last summer, replacing Michael Ala'alatoa who went the other way, and has proven to be a big hit at Leo Cullen’s side this season.
The 35-year-old has played 14 of his side’s 16 games across the BKT United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup, scoring one try, while his form also led to a France recall for this year’s Six Nations.
While IRFU performance director David Humphreys said that the union would be blocking future front row signings after Slimani arrived at Leinster last summer, they have signed off on a renewal of the deal.
On another busy day of contract renewals, Leinster have also agreed a new deal with Ireland international Jordan Larmour.
The 27-year-old has made 113 appearances for the province, although injury has limited him to just five games this season, where he has scored four tries.
The wing/full-back has won 32 caps for Ireland, the last of which came against Scotland in 2024.
Scrum-half Fintan Gunne has been promoted from the academy to senior terms next season. The 21-year-old was a key member of the Ireland U20 side who won a Six Nations Grand Slam, and reached the World Rugby U20 Championship final in 2023.
Connacht have also been busy on the contract front today, with versatile forward Josh Murphy signing a two-year extension.
The former Leinster man has played 31 times for the province since joining in 2022, although he sat out the 2023/24 season to pursue his medical studies.
Centre David Hawkshaw and hooker Eoin de Buitléar have also agreed contracts for the 2025/26 campaign.
