Ireland internationals Iain Henderson and Rob Herring have both signed new contracts at Ulster.

Henderson has signed a two-year deal which keeps him at the province until the summer of 2027, and appears to have dropped down from a central IRFU contract to a provincial deal.

"I'm delighted to sign with Ulster Rugby for another two years and feel energised about leading this group, which can keep growing in the months to come," the Ulster captain said.

The 31-year-old has played more than 150 times for the province and has won 82 caps for Ireland, while he also toured with the British and Irish Lions in 2017 and 2021.

"We are building a team with a new core of players coming through the ranks and I believe there is the talent and experience to drive us forward.

"As a proud Ulsterman, I love playing for the club and I’m excited for us going forward."

Herring has agreed a 12-month extension, which will keep him at Kingspan Stadium until the summer of 2026.

The hooker joined from his native South Africa in 2012, and has gone on to set Ulster's all-time appearances record, with 241 games for the province as of this month.

Irish-qualified through grandparents, Herring made his debut against Argentina in June 2014, and has gone on to win 42 caps, the most recent of which came in last Friday's 22-19 win against the same opposition.

The 34-year-old is the latest player to commit a new deal with the province this week, with versatile back Stewart Moore also signing a contract extension on Monday.

Moore, who featured for Emerging Ireland in 2022, has signed a two-year deal which will run until the summer of 2027.
