The big news is that RG Snyman has recovered from a shoulder / chest injury and is in line for his seasonal Munster debut, as is Mike Haley.

Defending champions Munster are in 11th place just one point off the play-off places and need to put together a decent run soon.

They scraped into the last-16 in the Champions Cup and have lost on their last two league outings, to Leinster and Connacht.

Their most recent away win in the URC was in last season's final over the Stormers in Cape Town, while Graham Rowntree's side have lost on their last three visits to Wales but boast a five-game winning run against the Scarlets.

The Welsh side’s only victory in their last six championship matches was 29-23 at Cardiff in early December.

Connacht are just three points ahead of Cardiff in the table so this game is a real opportunity to put some distance between their opposition.

Pete Wilkins side sit ninth and come in off the back of a 22-9 win over Munster in their last league outing, while they completed the pool stages of their Champions Cup campaign with a big win over Bristol.

Connacht's only away win in any competition this season was 13-12 over the Sharks in Durban in Round 5, while they have won their last seven games against Welsh regions.

They make four changes to the team that beat the Bear with Dave Heffernan, Jack Aungier, Conor Oliver and the fit-again Cathal Forde all back in the side.

Matt Sherratt’s men have won just two of their last seven URC matches, both at home to the Stormers in Round 6 and the Dragons in Round 8.

This is Cardiff’s first fixture against an Irish province this season, and in 2022/23 they lost their last three such encounters.

Their only away win in any competition since October was by a single point at Leinster in Round 9 of the URC.

Ulster have named Ireland internationals Iain Henderson, Jacob Stockdale, Tom Stewart and Nick Timoney following their release from Six Nations camp in their squad.

Ospreys, meanwhile, have won their last two URC matches against Scarlets and Cardiff and have not won three in succession in the Championship since May 2022.

Toby Booth’s side have not lost at home in any competition since Glasgow were the visitors in Round 4 of the championship.
