The United Rugby Championship have postponed a fourth game this weekend due to Covid-19, with the Italian derby of Benetton and Zebre the latest to be called off.

The URC confirmed the postponement this morning, with the Treviso outfit reporting multiple positive cases.

"The Round 9 United Rugby Championship fixture between Benetton Rugby and Zebre Parma has been postponed," a league statement reads.

"The game was due to take place on Sunday, 2 January in Treviso, however, a number of positive Covid-19 cases within the Benetton Rugby squad have been reported by the club.

"The URC Medical Advisory Group has liaised with Benetton and the local health authorities and deemed that the fixture cannot go ahead as scheduled.

"The United Rugby Championship will now consider available dates to reschedule the game."

It's the fourth game of the New Year's weekend block to be postponed with the Irish derby of Ulster and Leinster, Dragons v Cardiff and Edinburgh v Glasgow also having to be refixed following outbreaks of the virus in teams.

As things stand, the Interpro' meeting of Connacht and Munster is still set to go ahead, with a 5:15pm kickoff on New Year's Day at the Sportsground, with both camps currently free of Covid-19.
