Irish triathlete Ben Shaw has been banned from competition for four years after testing positive for a prohibited substance.
Ligandrol, which is a selective androgen receptor modulator, was detected in a sample Shaw provided in an out-of-competition doping control test on 22 July.
The 28-year-old, who is based in Australia, was unable to provide Triathlon Ireland and Sport Ireland with an explanation as to how the drug was present in his sample and declined to exercise his right to a hearing.
Shaw has notified both organisations of his retirement from the sport.
