Jannik Sinner maintained his hex over the world number three

World No 2 Jannik Sinner is through to the semi-finals of the ATP Finals with a match to spare after beating Alexander Zverev.

The Wimbledon champion, on home soil in Turin, triumphed 6-4 6-3 for a fifth straight win over German world number three Zverev.

Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime kept his hopes of a place in the last four alive with a comeback win over Ben Shelton.

The 25-year-old, beaten by Sinner in his first round-robin match, came to within two points of another defeat in a second-set tie-break but rallied to beat big-serving American Shelton 4-6 7-6 (7) 7-5.

Shelton is eliminated while Zverev will face Auger-Aliassime for a place in the semis.
