Anett Kontaveit will face former world No 1 Garbine Muguruza for the WTA Finals title on Wednesday after beating Maria Sakkari in three sets.
World number eight Kontaveit was clinical in the first set at Guadalajara, breaking Sakkari twice and sealing the advantage after 28 minutes.
But the Greek hit back in the second, a break for 5-3 proving critical as she forced a decider.

In the third, Sakkari broke first for a 3-2 lead but immediately surrendered the advantage and Kontaveit broke again for 5-3 and served out to win 6-1 3-6 6-3.
All that stands between the Estonian and her first major title is Muguruza, who won in straight sets when they met in the group stages.
Muguruza had a slightly easier time in her semi-final over Paula Badosa. Her second break secured the first set and she won all six games on serve in the second for a 6-3 6-3 win.
