Ireland's Georgia Drummy was forced off court at the French Junior Open midway through the first set of her second-round doubles match due to train.

Drummy and Swiss playing partner Simona Waltert trailed 3-2 to Maria Lourdes Carle and Cori Gauff before the weather closed in.

They had overcome Leylah Annie Fernandez and Joanne Zuger 7-5 6-4 in the opening round but were braced for a stern test against the sixth seeds this afternoon.

After both pairs held serve in the first five games, play was halted and they will return tomorrow at Roland Garros.

Dubliner Drummy, 18, made history when becoming the youngest ever Irish player to qualify for a Junior Grand Slam at age 15.

She competed at the Junior Australian Open after defeating USA's Helen Abigail Altick two years ago.
