Pablo Cuevas secured a fourth ATP World Tour title after beating Guido Pella to win the Rio Open in Brazil.
The Uruguayan - ranked 45th in the world - was fresh from beating Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals got the better of his Argentinian opponent in a rain-interrupted three sets, winning 6-4 7-6 6-4 in two hours and 16 minutes.
Cuevas sent down 14 aces and faced only two break points in a dominant serving performance, winning 78 per cent of points on his first serve.
Pella, who was playing his first Tour final, put in a credible showing, but was broken on his final service game in the sets he lost, allowing Cuevas to take advantage at the crucial time.
