Seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer has confirmed he will team up with former women's world number one Martina Hingis in the mixed doubles event for Switzerland at next year's Olympics.
Federer and Hingis have previously played together in the Hopman Cup, leading Switzerland to victory in the 2001 edition.
Federer revealed the Rio 2016 news on Friday in a post on Twitter.

In quotes reported by Sport360, the Swiss added: "I'm very excited about that because I haven't played with her I guess in 15 years.
"I looked up to her when I was younger, I thought she was the most unbelievable talent.
"She's almost my age and she was winning grand slams while I was still at the national tennis centre, trying to make it on the tour and I couldn't believe how good she was. I'm very excited about that."
It has been a stellar year for Hingis on the doubles circuit as she and India's Sania Mirza won the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles titles and capped that with victory in the WTA Finals in Singapore.
Hingis' Indo-Swiss partnership in 2015 has borne fruit in the mixed doubles as well, as she and Leander Paes won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open titles.
Federer won gold with Stan Wawrinka in the doubles event at the 2008 Olympics, while his silver at London 2012 is his best result to date in the singles event.
