Ireland number one James McGee will lead the Irish team in their Davis Cup relegation clash with South Africa.

McGee will lead the team with Sam Barry as number two and they will be joined by doubles specialists James Cluskey and David O’Hare.

The Irish Davis Cup Captain Conor Niland said: "I am very pleased to announce a strong team for this tie against South Africa. It is great to have James McGee back in the squad and we are excited at the opportunity to play in South Africa."

The Irish team travel to South Africa for their Euro/Africa Zone Group II relegation play-off  at the Irene Country Club in Centurion on the 17-19 July.

Ireland lost both their previous outings against the South Africans and need a win to avoid dropping into Europe Zone Group III for the first time since 2007.
