Venus Williams went one better than last year as she won the ASB Classic with victory over Caroline Wozniacki.

The American lost to Ana Ivanovic in last year's Auckland final but would not be denied this time around as she fought back to triumph 2-6 6-3 6-3 against her Danish opponent.

Wozniacki secured two early breaks to move into a 4-1 lead in the first set and closed it out in 31 minutes as she looked to be in control.
