James McGee is through to the final of the Green Property Men's Irish Open $15,000 Futures event in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club.

McGee overcame the number two seed, Slovakian player Miloslav Mecir, booking his place in the final on a 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7/3) scoreline.

McGee got off to the perfect start, winning the first set in style, 6-2. Mecir recovered well and took the second 6-3 and continued that form when he broke McGee early in the third set to go 3-0 up in the final set.

However, McGee broke back to bring the match to a final set tie-break and eventually won out 7-6 (7/3).

McGee will face number one seed Charles-Antoine Brezac in the final, after he overcame Barry King 6-0 6-4 in his semi-final encounter.
