Conor Niland’s quest for US Open qualification has ended after losing in the second qualifying round in New York.

Niland bowed out in straight sets to Brazillian Ricardo Hocevar 7-5 6-2.

The Irishman had impressed in the first round defeating Spain’s David Marrero 6-0 6-4.
